Sacred Space and Timeless Craft at UD’s Church of the Incarnation

Architecture, commercial interiors, and drone photography for Mitchell Garman Architects

The Church of the Incarnation at the University of Dallas isn’t just a place of worship—it’s a masterclass in architectural reverence. Designed by Mitchell Garman Architects, this sacred space blends organic textures, artisan detailing, and a deep sense of calm to foster reflection and spiritual connection.

Warm-toned brick, natural light, and handcrafted chandeliers set the tone inside the sanctuary, where soaring ceilings and curved pews guide the eye—and the spirit—toward the altar. Our photography focused on capturing this harmony of scale and intimacy. Each image is a study in balance: the monumental softened by the handmade.

Highlights of the shoot include the church’s stunning copper and iron lighting fixtures, textured floors engraved with scripture, and richly shadowed hallways that invite quiet contemplation. Outside, the church nestles into the landscape with humility, its low, chapel-like silhouette peeking through a canopy of Texas trees.

This project was a rare opportunity to photograph not just architecture, but atmosphere—to document the stillness, light, and soul of a space designed to elevate the human experience. In every frame, the Church of the Incarnation radiates timeless grace.
