Timeless Elegance on Worth Avenue: A Historic Home in Dallas, TX

Architecture and interior photography for the AIA Tour of Homes

Nestled in one of Dallas’s most distinguished neighborhoods, the historic home on Worth Avenue is a testament to early 20th-century craftsmanship and architectural vision. Our recent architecture photography session aimed to honor the home’s storied past while celebrating the thoughtful preservation and design details that make it a standout in modern times.

From the moment you arrive, the façade sets the tone: symmetrical, stately, and gracefully aged. Arched windows, striped awnings, and meticulous masonry create a welcoming exterior that hints at the refinement within. The home’s entry unfolds into a sweeping staircase wrapped in rich woodwork, with light filtering through leaded glass windows that dance across the polished floors.

The interiors are a harmony of period character and curated updates. Original coffered ceilings and built-ins anchor the dining and living rooms, which are outfitted with stunning fireplaces adorned in antique tilework and intricate millwork. Our photography highlights the subtle interplay of shadow and structure in these warm, layered spaces.

The kitchen marries vintage charm with functionality—green cabinetry, marble countertops, and natural light flood the space, offering a fresh counterpoint to the darker, wood-paneled rooms. In the butler’s pantry and secondary prep areas, the cabinetry detail and hardware nod to the home’s roots while supporting modern convenience.

Upstairs, a soft, serene palette welcomes you into the bedrooms. Large windows and period moldings maintain a sense of lightness and airiness, while the bathrooms—particularly the one with the clawfoot tub and potted palm—are quiet oases that blend classical lines with contemporary comfort.

Throughout the home, careful attention has been paid to not only preserving the architectural integrity but also creating a sense of livable history. Every stair spindle, chandelier, and artful nook tells a story—and our goal as architectural photographers was to ensure that story is visually preserved.

6220 Worth Ave is more than a home—it’s a living piece of Dallas history, masterfully maintained and thoughtfully photographed to celebrate the enduring power of design that stands the test of time.
