Color-Driven Sophistication: A Tale of Two Living Rooms
Interior design photography for Burkle Creative
This dynamic interior design project gave us the unique opportunity to photograph two distinct living spaces within one home—each with its own palette, personality, and purpose, yet tied together through bold design choices and masterful color use.
The first space greets you with moody sophistication: deep blue walls, a patterned ceiling in soft tones, and striking brass lighting. Our architectural photography approach captured the elegance of the room’s symmetry, the interplay of natural light with rich color, and the subtle textural elements—from velvet upholstery to refined millwork—that give the space its depth.
Stepping through the arched doorway, you enter a second living area awash in warm coral hues. This room is playful yet grounded, filled with inviting textures and sculptural forms. We focused our photography on the layered styling—vibrant art, curated shelves, plush furniture—and how these elements harmonize under a bold, painted ceiling that matches the trim.
These rooms provided the perfect setting to showcase our combined approach to architectural and interior photography: wide shots that tell the story of layout and flow, paired with intimate vignettes that highlight thoughtful design moments—a pink ottoman under a framed abstract, a built-in arch glowing with curated treasures, or the softness of patterned upholstery paired with saturated walls.
This project exemplifies the power of color to define and transform space, and the importance of intentional lighting and composition in capturing that transformation. Through the lens, we aimed to translate not just what these rooms look like—but how they feel.
