PAPERBOY
Brick, Light, and Brunch: Inside Austin’s Paperboy
The flagship Paperboy, tucked into a thriving corner of East Austin, is more than a brunch destination—it’s a striking example of thoughtful architecture meeting refined interior design. Designed by Chioco Design with interiors by Kempt Studio, this café blurs the line between modern hospitality and design-forward living.
The building’s signature terracotta breeze blocks form an exterior that feels sculptural yet grounded—casting shadows that move with the sun while offering glimpses of the warmly lit interior. Step inside and you're met with a calm, intentional space layered in soft wood tones, terrazzo surfaces, and relaxed textures.
The interiors playfully contrast the structured exterior, using light-filled windows, open sightlines, and custom furnishings to create an atmosphere that feels just as comfortable as it is curated. Every detail—from the green glazed tile behind the signage to the curve of the banquettes—was designed to make patrons linger a little longer.
Our architectural photography captures the full experience of Paperboy: a space where the geometry of the building and the grace of the interiors come together in harmony, telling a cohesive story of community, craft, and calm.
